The Feed has detected a phishing scam in the gay relationship software Grindr.
An ACCC representative has verified towards the Feed, “The premise the scammer makes use of is the fact that the target must register on an internet site to supply they’re not a ‘catfish’ or registered sex offender. The scammer then claims to own been the victim of the bashing that is gay also sends pictures that may actually show their bruised and scarred human body following the bashing. The scammer asks the target to register to a 3rd party internet site for a police background check employing A bing Chrome browser.
